In-4 paperback: 2f, LXII, 620pp; ornate lettering at the head of the chapters, one colour plate (facsimile of the writing of the Livre des Bouillons). Well printed on beautiful thick laid paper. Few and discreet freckles. Factitious cover, the top cover of the original edition has been preserved. A good copy. Also from the same institution: Livre des privilèges [Armoiries]. Bordeaux, Gounouilhou, 1878. In-4 paperback : 2f., XLVIIII, 774pp. Well printed on beautiful thick laid paper. Rare and discreet foxing. Volume II of the " Archives Municipales de Bordeaux ". Published by Henri Barckhausen, who signs the Essay on the Municipal Administration of Bordeaux under the Ancien Régime. The cover and the title page bear "Priviléges", with an acute accent. Factitious cover, the top cover of the original edition has been preserved. A good copy. Uncommon. Volume I of the "Archives Municipales de Bordeaux". A "modern" publication of the archives of the old Bordeaux Jurade, gathering the charters of Bordeaux granted by the dukes of Aquitaine and the kings of England, from the 12th to the 15th century. The lettering was designed by Leo Douyn. The term "bouillon" comes from the Latin bulla and refers to the large copper nails adorning its cover and protecting the leather of the manuscript's binding (preserved in the Municipal Archives of Bordeaux).
