Militaria VERNET (Horace) - LAMI (Eugène) Collection of the uniforms of the French Armies, from 1791 to 1814. Paris, Gide fils, 1822. Explanatory text sheets accompanying each plate; 47/48 coloured plates lithographed by VILLAIN with accompanying text. Explanatory text sheets accompanying each plate. (2nd vol.). Red calf, spine ribbed and decorated with cold arabesques stamped in the centre of the boards, gilt fillet, small irons in the spandrels, gilt roulette on the edges and inside, gilt edges (1st vol.) - ½ garnet morocco with corners and fillet signed PAGNANT, smooth spine decorated, rubbing, corners dull (2nd vol.). According to Glasser, the work of Lami and Vernet is without question one of the most beautiful that has been done on the French Army.
