Souvenirs of the Pyrenees. Choix de 16 Vues Gravées au Burin par Alom (sic). Pau, Bassy, Eaux-Bonnes, galerie Pommé, sd. (circa 1840).
In-4: title in blue with illustrated vignette, 16 hors texte plates on steel protected in serpents, by Radcliffe, Wallis, Willmore, Bentley, etc. Some minor spotting.
½ contemporary black calf, gilt title on upper board.
Allom's 19 plates with Pyrenean subjects appeared in "La France au XIXe siècle" published by Fisher in London and Mandeville in Paris around 1840. Here is a curious version, complete with 16 plates.
