In-4; illustrated with a frontispiece title and 28 hors texte plates by Philippe d'Orléans engraved on copper by Benoît Audran. Text framed.
Contemporary red morocco, smooth ornate spine, rubbing on spine ends, triple gilt fillet on covers, double gilt fillet on edges, interior roulette, gilt edges.
New edition of the "Regent" figures, which reproduce the paintings that the novel inspired in the Prince. Only 250 copies of the first edition, dated 1718, were printed. The next two editions, in 1745 and 1754, featured the retouched figures. The London edition contains the engravings of the original, including the "little feet".
