PLINE World history, collated & corrected on several old Latin copies, both printed and hand-written: & enriched with annotations in the margins, conference services & declaration of ancient & modern names of cities, regions, simple, & other places & obscure terms included here. To this has been added a treatise of ancient weights & measures, reduced to the style of the French. Geneva, Jacob Stoer, 1625. In-4: 28f., 533pp., 107f. (table), 1fb. / 11f., 624pp., 69f. (table). Traces of worms with small gaps in the text at the foot angles (vol. 1), light ring (vol. 2). Short copy of margins. Without cover, unbound, but complete. As is. Pliny's text is the first great universal encyclopedia. All scientific subjects were covered, mainly botany, zoology and geography, but also mathematics, physics and astronomy. There are recipes for everything, including recipes for magic, alchemy, cabal, witchcraft and enchantments.
