In-4: a-z8, Aa8-Tt3; contains 46 songs followed by 5 songs that follow the Roland Furieux. Each stanza numbered, the argument leaves framed with beautiful illustrated frieze and central woodcut vignettes. Old vellum, handwritten title on spine, traces of old lace closures, red edges. Provenance: Ex libris Andrea Bourbon Delmonte. The Bourbon del Monte Santa Maria were one of the most important Tuscan families of the Middle Ages, settled in Umbria and the Marches. The family owned fiefdoms in the Val di Chiana and Valdarno Aretino, in the Tiber hills, in Cortona, in Città di Castello and in Perugia. The most famous members of the family were Cardinal Francesco Maria Bourbon del Monte, patron of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, and Guidobaldo del Monte, mathematician and astronomer, friend and patron of Galileo.
