The arms of Geogres Joly de Blaisy FERRARI (Philippe) Lexicon Geographicum in quo Universi Orbis urbes, Provinciae, tregna, Maria, & Flumina recensentur Paris, Muguet, 1670. 2 parts in one volume in folio : 6f. 533pp. - 1f. 483pp. 10f. (latitudes and longitudes). Text on two columns, clear ring at the end of the volume. Contemporary fawn calf, spine ribbed and decorated, headband faded, one bit cracked, large central arms on boards of Georges Joly de Blaisy, gilt roulette on edges, corners blunted, edges red. First edition. This is the most famous work of the scholar Philippe Ferrari. Provenance: Arms of the library of Geogres Joly de Blaisy, second President of the Parliament of Burgundy. A distinguished bibliophile, he left several works in manuscript. His son, author of these memoirs, published an Abrégé de la vie de Georges Joly, chevalier, baron de Blaisy, président à mortier au Parlement de Bourgogne.
