FABRICIUS D'AQUAPENDENTE (Girolamo) Opera Omnia Anatomica et Physiologica Lugduni Batavorum (Leiden), van Kerckhem, 1737. In folio : 24f., 452pp. 11f. (index); illustrated with VIII plates (De formatione ovii), XXXIII plates (De formato foetu), VIII plates (De Venaro Ostiolis), 4 plates (De oculo), one plate (De Auditu), VI plates (De Larynge Vocis Organo), one plate (De Locutione). A total of 61 folding plates and some geometrical figures in the text. Missing the portrait. Later (probably 19th) stiff vellum with Bradel-style corners, red title-piece on spine, gilt irons. Uncommon Latin edition of the anatomical and physiological writings of Fabricius, a famous Italian surgeon of the early 16th century. A large part of the plates describes the embryonic development of vertebrates (Waller 2891).
