First edition. - CRÉTINEAU-JOLY (Jacques Augustin Marie) : History of the military Vendée. New and illustrated edition, enriched with a coloured map and superb portraits and drawings, annotated and increased by a fifth volume by the R.P. Jean Emmanuel Drochon. Paris, Maison de la Bonne Presse, sd. [1895-96]. 5 volumes in-8, about 500pp. per volume; illustrated with numerous engravings, one folding map, slight light ringing in outer margin. ½ blond calf of the period, spine ribbed and decorated, red title-pieces, tan tomaisons, leather stained, especially at the foot of the volumes (old trace of moisture), publisher's covers preserved. A good copy. Reference edition considered as the best and most complete on the Vendée wars. Set of 11 volumes.
