Marginal foxing not reaching the text. ½ contemporary tan basane, smooth spines, gilt pallets, gilt title and tomaison on 2 red parts (worn), yellow edges mottled with red. SALVIAT, adviser to the presidial of Brive, differs from Lapeyrère by using only elements specific to the Court and Parliament of Bordeaux. "Liberal François SALVIAT was born on July 5, 1746, in Brive, and died on October 23, 1820, in the castle of Puymège. In 1777, the advanced ideas of Liberal François will lead him to found the Masonic lodge of Brive, the second of the department, always according to de Nussac. The Revolution took away all his titles of nobility and judicial function. He returned to Brive, where he devoted himself to the management of his lands, which were rented out. His advanced ideas allowed him to be, on February 21, 1790, the first mayor elected in Brive by a democratic assembly.
