Normandy - Rouen DE MERVAL L'Entrée de Henri II Roi de France à Rouen, au mois d'octobre 1550, printed for the first time from a manuscript in the Rouen library, decorated with ten etched plates by Louis de Merval, accompanied by bibliographical and historical notes by S. de Merval. Rouen, Boissel, 1868. In-4 oblong: bibliographical note, reproduction of the manuscript text, numerous ornaments and emblems, 10 etching plates, notes and variants. Limited edition of 100 copies on Hollande (n°3 for Prosper Blanchemain). Paper covered boards, spine broken, one board detached, title label on upper board. First edition of a manuscript (anonymous poem composed in honor of the King's entry into Rouen on Wednesday, October 1, 1550) preserved since 1838 in the Rouen Library. Document on the appearance of Rouen in the 16th century.
