Drawn and engraved by Mr. Rodolphe Pfnor, accompanied by a historical text. Accompanied by a historical and descriptive text by CHAMPOLLION-FIGEAC. Paris, Morel & Cie, 1863. Fort in folio: 4f., 20pp. and 150 plates (some double and 5 in chromolithography) engraved on metal by Bayrer, Bury, Lebel, Obermayer and Penel, after Pfnor. Set mounted on mitre. Paper quite white. ½ tan morocco with fillets corners, spine ribbed and decorated, F-irons surmounted by a royal crown between boxes, gilt head. A fine copy. First edition of this monumental and beautiful monograph. Provenance: Printed bookplate of the publisher Théodore Lefèvre, with his motto "In libro libertas".
