Théodore BAER (1844 1895), DESIGNER OF THE MANUFACTURE BELLOIR ET VAZELLE Project of decoration for a Parisian private mansion. Pencil, watercolor. 62 x 36,5 cm. Stamp of the firm Belloir et Vazelle, rue de la Victoire in Paris. The 1870's. Perfect condition. Between the Second Empire and the beginning of the 20th century, Belloir and Vazelle were the official decorators of the Parisian theatres, the Paris City Hall and the ministries. They created the furniture and stage curtain for the Opéra-Garnier, specialised in ephemeral decorations for the biggest festivals, and also provided services for the Universal Exhibitions. The Musée d'Orsay acquired and presented a whole series of their preparatory drawings for the exhibition Spectacular Second Empire.
