In-8 : 16f., 774pp. Soft antique vellum soiled, handwritten title on spine, binding missing. The original was published in Antwerp, by Plantin in 1581. Philippe de Mornay was one of the most important Protestant figures of the second half of the 16th century. A close advisor to Henry III of Navarre (the future king Henry IV), he carried out many important diplomatic missions in France and abroad. He actively contributed to the preparation of the Edict of Nantes. This treatise describes the main foundations of the Christian faith in conformity with the Protestant precepts.
