Pennell. Paris, Boudet, Tallandier, 1897. In-4: 206pp, (1); illustrated with 68 plates out of text (one double in black, 67 in color (including 2 double in color) protected by serpents). Limited edition of 1050 copies, one of 1000 on vellum (n°236). One plate detached. ½ tan chagrin with fillets corners, title and gilt fillets on spine, corners slightly dulled, gilt head, publisher's cover preserved. Unique illustrated edition. A useful complement to Maindron's monographs which deal only with French artists, the work concerns German posters (Sattler, Heine, Fischer), English posters (Beardsley, Dudley-Hardy, Ellis, Solon... and Toulouse-Lautrec for a poster in English), Austrian (Orlik), Belgian (Berchmans, Donnay, Evenepoel, Privat-Livemont, Rassenfosse, van Rysselberghe...), American (Bradley, Gifford, Louis Rhead... and Grasset for a poster in English) and Japanese.
