Spain - Continuation of Antonio CARNICERO MANCIO BOURGOING (Jean-François de) Table of Modern Spain. Paris, Levrault, year XI (1803). 3 volumes in-8 : 3f., VIII, 398pp. / 2f., 408pp. / 2f., 374pp. ; Atlas : 14 plates of which 8 double-page (map, plan of Madrid, bullfighting, various views of sites). Light staining on the plates. Contemporary marbled fawn calf, richly decorated smooth spines, red title-pieces, black tomaisons, roulette on the edges, yellow edges. Nice copy. Atlas ½ period fawn basane, smooth spine rubbed and missing, cardboard boards (modest binding). The atlas contains 2 large double-page plates, each containing 6 figures of bullfighting scenes (complete suite of the series of 12 engravings "Las principales suertes de una corrida de toros" by Antonio CARNICERO MANCIO). Minister plenipotentiary in Madrid, the author stayed a long time in Spain and frequented all the classes of the Spanish nation and visited its main cities.
