Max ERNST (1891-1976) Man, 1966 (Special prize for the International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen) Gilt bronze proof, signed on the side, annotated and dated "Oberhausen 1966" on the back. Susse Fondeur Paris. Height : 28 cm. Provenance : Jan Lenica The plaster model was designed in 1960, the goldsmith François Hugo created a silver copy after it in 1961. This plaster model was reused for five bronze proofs, cast by the foundry Susse Fondeur, Paris in 1966, to serve as a special prize for the International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen . This special prize was awarded to the Polish filmmaker Jan Lenica in 1966. We thank Dr. Jürgen Pech for the information he kindly provided.
