HOMER The Iliad - The Odyssey. Translated into French verse by M. de Rochefort. Paris, Imprimerie Royale, 1781-82. 2 volumes in-4; illustrated with engraved vignettes by Bosse. Contemporary brown calf, ornate smooth spines, red title-pieces, slight rubbing, 2 dull headpieces, gilt garland framing the boards, gilt roulette on the edges, marbled edges. Elegant typography of the Imprimerie Royale enhanced by bands in the manner of bas-reliefs.
