Maroquin signed Chambolle Duru [MONTESQUIEU (Charles-Louis de Secondat) baron de] The Temple of Gnide. New edition with figures engraved by Le Mire after the drawings of Ch. Eisen. Paris, Le Mire, 1772. In-8, text is entirely engraved by Drouet; illustrated with an engraved title, a frontispiece with a portrait of the author and 9 hors-texte plates. Copy with all margins. Midnight blue morocco signed CHAMBOLLE DURU, decorated spine, large gilt garland framing the boards, double gilt fillet on the edges, large inner garland, gilt edges. Protective slipcase. A very nice copy of this prose poem in seven songs by Montesquieu, published anonymously.
