In-8; 8 folding plates (2 with small marginal tears). Contemporary marbled basane, ornate spine, blond title-piece, one bit cracked at the entries, rubbed, red edge. Jean-Antoine Nollet known as Abbé Nollet was a great popularizer of physical sciences in the 18th century. Specialized in the study of electrical phenomena, he designed the first electroscopes and presented the Leyden bottle to the French for the first time. He is considered a precursor of technical education.
