[VARIA HISTORY] Reunion of works: - LA ROCHEFOUCAULD (François de): Mémoires de M. D. L. R. sur les brigues de la mort de Louys XIII, les guerres de Paris & de Guyenne, & la prison des Princes. Cologne [Brussels], Van Dyck [Coppens], 1662. Small in-12, contemporary marbled fawn basane, spine ribbed and ornamented, leather missing, jaws cracked, corners dulled, red edges. Second edition faithfully reproducing the original without the numerous errors of the latter. The Memoirs of this moralist, who was one of the leaders of the Fronde des Princes, are among the most important for the history of the Fronde, along with those of Cardinal de Retz. They are followed, in pp. 277-384, by the Memoirs of La Chastre (pp.277) on what happened at the end of the life of Louis XIII and at the beginning of the Regency and by a letter of Mr. de La Chastre to Mr. de Brienne (Tchemerzine IV, 27)(Brunet III, 848). - LOUIS XV - FUNERAL ORAISON: Funeral Oration of Louis the beloved, King of France, pronounced at the service made in the church of the general hospital of the Charity of Lyon, on August 3, 1774 by M.
