Contemporary fawn glazed calf, spine ribbed and decorated, red title-pieces, a cracked bit at the head, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, central gilt arms, gilt roulette on the edges and inside, slight rubbing, dull corners, red edges. Provenance: Arms of Nicolas Lambert, lord of Thorigny and Vermont, councillor at the Parliament of Paris, became president of the chamber of requests, then was elected provost of the merchants of Paris in 1725 (OHR 1772). Second handwritten bookplate A. M. de Clerin. - LE MOYNE (Pierre): La Veuë de Paris, heroic and moral letter to Mgr le chancelier. Paris, Courbe, 1659. In-4, 28pp. Modern boards, 1/2 brown chagrined percaline. First edition of this verse piece, one of the many produced by Le Moyne. In this poem, the author gives in to the delights of astrology.
