[CHALOSSE - PYRÉNÉES] Reunion of 2 works: - LABORDE LASSALLE (André, de): En Chalosse. Historical notes. Saint-Sever-sur-Adour, Serre, 1907. In-8, one frontispiece plate. Envoi from the author to Mr. d'Ayrenx. Modern red cloth, black title page. This author had already given in 1902 a monograph of his family entitled : "Une Famille en Chalosse". FIRMINHAC, abbé : Les Pyrénées. Bordeaux, Dupuy & Cie, 1854. In-8, ½ blue cloth à la Bradel, burgundy title on spine. Monsieur le curé has a firm hock and handles the verse at the same time as the walking stick. He visits all his confreres and between two villages, climbs to the top of the most accessible mountains. Rare work. Born in Estaing in 1798, he was a seminarian in Bordeaux. He was successively parish priest of Sauternes in 1825, then of Ambarès in 1829 and of Sainte-Eulalie de Bordeaux in 1857. In 1866 he retired to Ginolhac, near Entraygues, where he died in 1880. He was an honorary canon of Rodez and Tours, a knight of the order of Isabella "la Catholique", a member of the Society of Letters, Sciences and Arts of Aveyron. Abbot Firminhac published several works, notably of poetry. Provenance: Printed bookplate Gabriel Laplagne Barris, member of the Société Archéologique du Gers in each volume.
