Facsimile [CODEX BORBONICUS] Codex Borbonicus. Facsimile edition. Akademische Druck- u. Verlagsanstalt (ADEVA), 1974. Large square format, accordion folded panels, with a booklet of explanatory comments. Full size color reproduction of the entire original document, Codex Borbonicus: the facsimile attempts to reproduce the appearance and physical characteristics of the original document. Without the missing slipcase. Created in the Valley of Mexico in the 1520s, the Codex Borbonicus is a guide to understanding how time was perceived and described by the pre-conquest Aztecs. It is beautifully illustrated using the color and pictographic style characteristic of Nahua manuscripts. Particularly well known for its illustration of the new fire ceremony, it offers a range of depictions of ritual objects, deities, deity imitators, ceremonies and structures.
