Nice copy. - MARBOT (Jean Baptiste Antoine Marcellin) baron : Mémoires. Paris, Plon, Nourrit & Cie, 1892. 3 volumes in-8; illustrated with 3 frontispieces. Light staining on the last 3 or 4 leaves of volume I. Contemporary blond calf signed John BUMPUS (Oxford), spine ribbed and decorated, brown title-pieces, black tomaisons, triple gilt fillet on the boards, gilt roulette on the edges, inner garland, slight rubbing, ring on the lower third of the last plate of volume I, gilt heads. These Memoirs were written after 1847 and the "new details that can be borrowed from him are suspect; the rest is not from him". (Tulard 500).
