Archaeology - Iconography VISCONTI (Ennio Quirino) Plates of Greek iconography. Paris, Didot l'aîné, 1811. Atlas only. In plano: title and 57 plates with multiple figures (busts, portraits and medals), engraved by Cain, Hubert, Massard, Aubert, Girardet, Desnoyers... after drawings by Laguiche, Tofarelli, Montagny, Auboin, etc. ½ red basane of the time with corners, spine with ornate nerves rubbed, damaged head and foot boards with leather missing, rubbing at the spines and on the cuts. In 1804, Napoleon I asked Visconti to gather a large number of portraits of Greek and Roman illustrious men to create a collection which appeared respectively in 1808 & 1817.
