11 volumes in-8; illustrated with 84 plates containing 185 intaglio figures (including a frontispiece portrait and two fold-out maps). Occasional spotting, a few browned leaves, light banding at foot in 2 volumes.
Rooted fawn calf, ornate smooth spines, red title-pieces and tomaisons, green classifications, gilt roulette framing the boards, gilt fillet on the edges, marbled edges.
