Cartography [CARTOGRAPHIE ÉTAT-MAJOR - CARTES DÉPARTEMENTALES de la FRANCE] Reunion of 3 boxes containing a set of 13 large maps of French departments (c. 1840-1844) on the 1/80,000 scale map. Average map size: 135x103 cm (some maps larger or smaller depending on the department), maps laminated on canvas, accordion-folded, "C. Picquet - Paris". Contemporary red morocco spine boxes, gilt departmental map lists on one spine (lists absent on the other 2). Gilt crowned MA at the head of the spines. Homogeneous set with a few of the usual imperfections, minor wear to corners. Contents of boxes; 1/ : Nord - Oise - Pas-de-Calais - Seine Inférieure - Somme - 2/ : Jura - Eure - Seine-et-Oise - 3/ : Bas-Rhin - Moselle - Meurthe - Doubs - Haut-Rhin.
