In-8; illustrated with 10 two-tone plates hors texte (including frontispiece), 5 folding maps (including a large folding map in fine) and a folding table.
Contemporary ½ brown basane, title and gilt fillets on smooth spine, lightly rubbed.
One of the earliest accounts of Borneo and Sarawak, largely based on the diary of James Brooke, who distinguished himself in the Burmese War and devoted his life to the study of the Asian archipelago.
