Contemporary speckled fawn calf, spine ribbed and decorated, red title page, crowned fleur-de-lys at foot, central gilt coat of arms, gilt roulette on edges, one corner bent at head, red speckled edges.
Rare first edition. The author describes the country, its customs and religious beliefs, as well as the political system and the court of the Sefevids with precision, highlighting the interest of Persian institutions.
There are also remarks on the behavior of the country's different social classes, and indications on the education of women in the seraglio.
