Egypt WALSH (Thomas) Journal of the late campaign in Egypt : including descriptions of that country, and of Gibraltar, Minorca, Malta, Marmorice, and Macri. Illustrated by numerous engravings of antiquities, views, costumes, plans, positions, &c. London, Cadell & Davies, 1803. In-4; 49 hors texte plates engraved by Samuel John Neele, including a large folding color map of the course of the Nile, folding maps and plans and several color plates. Occasional heavy foxing. Edward Baker bookplate printed in color: "reddite suum cuique". Contemporary ½ plum calf with corners, ornate ribbed spine, black title-piece, rubbing, marbled edges. Second edition of this British account of the Egyptian Campaign, translated into French in 1823. It is illustrated with 42 plates and out-of-text maps engraved by Samuel John Neele, some of them folding, including 6 costume plates in period colors and a large colored map of the course of the Nile.
