Numbered edition (n°12) (scattered freckling on a few leaves, less severe than usual). ½ tinted flamed basane with corners, ornate spine, publisher's cover preserved. "Beautiful work dedicated to the memory of Earl Henry Russell". The most beautiful Pyrenean work illustrated by photography: a happy combination of the Richard verascope and phototyping. The black photographs are supported by the sepia text. The authors spent several years surveying the Pyrenees together, collecting over 400 photographs, a selection of which is presented here (Labarère 302)(Perret 2869).
