DELACROIX (Eugène) - Lot 309
DELACROIX (Eugène) 1845 - Eugène Delacroix in the Pyrenees. Drawings and watercolors presented by Claudine GANEVAL and Pierre CAILLAU-LAMICQ; preface by Maurice SERULLAZ. Lourdes, Amis du Musée Pyrénéen, 1975. In-4 oblong: XVI, 64pp; illustrations in the text, 11 color plates reproduced in phototypesetting, 43 drawings out of text. Edition of 500 copies on arches (n°11). Publisher's green cloth, gilt title on spine and front board, gilt head, illustrated glossy color dust jacket with mounted color vignette. Subscription leaflets enclosed. A counterpart to VIOLLET LE DUC's "Voyage aux Pyrénées", this is the first complete study of DELACROIX's trip to the Pyrenees, based on a notebook from his time at Eaux-Bonnes. Abundant illustrations, quality paper. A fine work by Pierre CAILLAU-LAMICQ.
