The "Ascension au Vignemale" occupies pages 141 to 183. As with many works from this period, there are advertising or catalog leaves at the end of the volume, which may or may not be there, generally removed during binding. The pre-original edition (of "Ascension") appeared summarily in the "Bulletin de l'Académie des Sciences", then in full in the "Revue des Deux Mondes" in 1838. The original booklet (a plaquette) is by Paris, Bachelier, 1841; reissued in 1842 with 4 fine lithographs by Sorrieu, then our edition in 1855, which is also far from common, reissued with a new title in 1858 (Labarère 1080)(Perret 3191).
