Contemporary ½ black chagrin, gilt title on spine, publisher's buff cover preserved, gilt head. Foreword by B. SARRIEU. A good reprint of this rare work. A major work by this poet born in Montréjeau in 1581. He published 4 works in Occitan between 1604 and 1607. His written language is not the language of Montréjeau or Toulouse. It was a more central Gascon form that made him the "Gascon" poet of the new generation in the early 17th century. This Margalide Gascoue is a "Grand Exercice de Thématique Baroque". "Les Perspectives de l'Histoire Littéraire d'Oc gives it the importance that its century denied it". Edition strictly conforms to that of 1604, with the addition of a juxtaposed translation.
