Publisher's green percaline boards, gilt title, attractive gilt composition on upper board, slight rubbing to headpieces.
Extremely rare. Pays basque, Vallée d'Ossau, Cauterets, Gavarnie, Bigorre Venasque. Contains, among other things, the only (?) mention of Whymper's passage through the Pyrenees.

First edition. A work covering the entire Pyrenees. Lavishly and attractively illustrated. Francis MILTOUN is the pseudonym of Milburg Francisco MANSFIELD, and Blanche MCMANUS that of his wife, Blanche MANSFIELD. An English edition exists (Pitman, 1908)(Bilbao V, 272).
