Very rare copy with handwritten corrections by Ramond RAMOND de CARBONNIÈRES (Louis François Elisabeth) baron État de la Végétation au Sommet du Pic du Midi de Bagnères. Mémoire lu à l'Académie des Sciences, en sa séance du 16 janvier 1826. By M. le Baron RAMOND (Paris, Annales du Museum, 1826). In-4: 65pp (title at top of first page). One of very few copies with Ramond's handwritten corrections in pencil in the margins. ½ modern brown chagrin, gilt title throughout on smooth spine. A "very rare" offprint of the text that appeared in the 1826 "Annales du Museum". Ramond's last text published during his lifetime (Labarère 1247). This text, which has undergone minor alterations compared with the original edition (also rare), is characterized by the fact that it does not include the Observations Météorologiques constituting Part II of the previous Mémoire: État de la végétation - Énumération des plantes qui croissent au sommet du Pic du Midi - Appendice. There are a few offprints (including this copy), numbered 1 to 65, with handwritten corrections by RAMOND. One of these very rare copies is in the Musée Pyrénéen in Lourdes, while a second is in a private collection belonging to a RAMOND relative. This is the third copy we can actually reference.
