A good copy. First edition. These Mémoires will appear in the collective edition of Ramond's works of 1849 (volume 1, the only one published) (Labarère 1240). Provenance: From the library of Mme Standish (née Hélène de Pérusse des Cars (1847-1933)), wife of Henry Noailles Widdrington. Mme Standish was a French aristocrat who maintained a relationship with Edward, Prince of Wales, during his occasional visits to Paris. Her husband was the grandson of the Duc de Mouchy. She was one of the leading figures of Parisian social and aristocratic life, and also served as a model for Marcel Proust's character of the Duchess of Guermantes.
