RUSSELL-KILLOUGH (Henry Patrice Marie) comte - GAURIER (Ludovic) abbé - [CORRESPONDANCES] Fine set of 23 letters and correspondence from Henry Russell to Abbé Gaurier, dated 1901 to 1909, and 3 letters from Franck or Ferdinand Russell. In-8, set in 4 portfolios arranged by date (leather date labels with gilt lettering): 6 letters from 1901 to 1904 - 10 letters and an envelope from 1905 and 1906 - 4 letters from 1907 - 3 letters and his spiritual testament to Abbé Gaurier, part of the contents of which have been removed (cut out), with mailing envelope; set dated 1908. A fifth portfolio contains 3 letters from Franck or Ferdinand Russell and the engraved image of the Russell villa. ½ red morocco slipcase, gilt title "H. Russell - Lettres à Ch. Gaurier" on smooth spine. A fine copy in its publisher's binding and custom-made slipcase. Fragments of this correspondence were developed at length by Pr Labarère in his book "Henry Russell-Killough explorateur des Pyrénées" (Édition du Gave, 2003 - Tome 1, pages 120 to 125).
