[SERMOU] Lou Sermou deu Curè de Bideren (XVIIIe sègle). Pau, Ribaut, 1879. Square in-8 booklet: 16 pp. Copy on laid paper, folds. Modern brown morocco, smooth mute spine, 2 sets of framing cold-stamped fillets, cold-stamped and gilded thematic irons decorating the boards. Lacaze states of the 1875 second edition: "The publisher is M. Léon Ribaut, bookseller in Pau, who, in 1873, had the first edition printed by Jouaust in Paris. He had a third reprinted in 1879 by Chollet in Sauveterre de Guyenne". Tonnet published a condensed version in 1880, and Moulia & Grandperrin gave a version in Orthez in 1900. It was the most popular story in Béarn during the wake. Bideren is annexed to the commune of Autevielle, canton of Sauveterre, arrondissement of Orthez (Labadie1412)(Lacaze 233).
