SPONT (Henry) The Pyrenees Illustrated. Luchon and its surroundings. Paris, Flammarion, sd. 3 works in 3 volumes in-12: 2f., V, 134pp. numerous photographic illustrations in text, including 10 full-page. ½ dark blue chagrin à la Bradel, gilt titles on smooth spines, gilt heads. A good copy. Also by the same author in identical bindings: Le Cirque du Lis. Paris, Flammarion, sd. (104pp.; numerous photographic illustrations, including 10 full-page) Le Néthou. Paris, Flammarion, sd. (100pp.; numerous photographic illustrations) Flammarion edition identical to the original (Soubiron). Both editions were printed by Hemmerlé in Paris, and there is nothing to distinguish the printing from the text other than the titles printed in black and the slightly trimmed format. Other parts were planned but never published. "Here is the real Henry SPONT: experienced mountaineer, specialist writer" says BERALDI! But let's not forget the 2 other contributors: Marcel SPONT, the author's brother, photographer, guide and co-writer, who perished in the mountains at the age of 34, and Jean-Marie SANSUC, guide (Labarère 1547-1549).
