SPONT (Henry) Sur la Montagne (les Pyrénées). Decorated with 60 engravings based on the Author's photographs. Engravings by G. DE RESENER. Paris, Plon, Nourrit (1898). Small in-8: 3 f., 221pp. 1f. numerous photographic illustrations on white glossy paper. ½ contemporary blond calf, spine ribbed and decorated. A good copy. "Sur la Montagne" is not very common and elegantly printed. To be compared with Jean d'USSEL's "Excursions et sensations Pyrénéennes" published by the same publisher in 1901, same format, same paper. The photos are beautiful and very Pyrenean. Henry SPONT and his brothers put together an extensive, high-quality photographic collection of the Pyrenees, from which many of their contemporaries drew, some of which appeared as postcards.
