Sle., Beraldi, 1901 [Paris, Lahure] In-8: 2f., 295pp. printed for Henri BERALDI (proof copy, not printed). ½ red morocco with corners, gilt title on spine, publisher's red embossed cover preserved, gilt head. A very fine copy, untrimmed. This 1901 edition by BERALDI, which reproduces the first 320 pages of the original edition, is extremely rare and highly sought-after (all "proof copy(ies)"). BERALDI had only a few copies printed (around fifteen, which he distributed to his friends). Provenance: Copy from the library of Maurice Heïd (with his super-libris M. H. at the foot of the spine).
