[BREVET de NOBLESSE - VILAR Y VILAR (Luis) - [GALARD de BÉARN]] Real despacho de Nobleza y armas del muy ylustre señor Don Luis Juan Sanche Arsias de Galard de Béarn. [Patent of nobility and attribution of arms for Louis Jean Sanche Arsieu Galard de Brassac de Béarn (1863-1939), the only living sibling of Laure Henry Gaston de Béarn]. Madrid, 1894. Original manuscript of the letters of nobility and arms granted by King Alfonso XIII to Sanche de Galard, Prince of Béarn and Viana (1894). In-4. Handwritten text on leaves with chromolithographed frames, entirely hand-crafted arms, lettering and decorations in color, protective yellow serpents (pitting on serpents), revenue stamps on each leaf, signatures and official stamps in fine. Red velvet-covered boards, gilt decoration framing the boards, central gilt coat of arms, one inner hinge partly broken, gilt edges. Sumptuous Spanish illuminated manuscript, drawn up and signed by Don Luis VILAR y VILAR, Cronista y Rey de Armas of King Alfonso XIII, in his name and in that of Queen Regent Isabella II, for the benefit of Louis Jean Sanche Arsieu de GALARD de BÉARN (1863-1939), to enable him to bear in Spain the qualities, arms and titles of his family. A copy was made by the Viana Archives thanks to the loan of this original manuscript by Professor Labarère. Literal translation: "S. M. don Alfonso XIII, with the consent of the Queen Regent doña Maria Christina de Habsburg-Lorraine, through the King of Arms don Luis VILAR y VILAR, grants the present Royal Office of Nobility and Arms to the younger and now deceased brother don Enrique Gaston de GALARD del BEARNE. The cabinet includes the express recognition and ratification by don Alfonso XIII of the grant and recognition of the noble title "Principe de Viana" which, on July 2, 1868, his grandmother and predecessor, S. M. la reine doña Isabel II, granted to the deceased".
