Nineteenth-century red chagrin, gilt title throughout on smooth spine, double cold-stamped fillets framing the boards with gilt iron with the numeral N in the spandrels, filleted edges. Jeanne-Marthe de Béarn, daughter of Joseph de Béarn (lord of Saumont in 1580, elder brother of Blaise de Béarn, lord of Réaup, and great-grandson of Etienne), was lady of Saumont in 1607, 1609 and 1644, and married to noble Jean-Louis de Mauléon, lord of Francon.
