In-8; etching on title page. Limited edition of 129 copies.
½ midnight-blue morocco with corners signed SEMET and PLUMELLE, gilt title on darkened ribbed spine, gilt edges.
Second edition, all the more sought-after as only three copies of the first were printed in Biarritz in 1866.
The story is dedicated to the Empress Eugenie, named after a peak in the Atlantic Pyrenees (La Rhune) where the author had gone on an excursion with the imperial court.
