Louis-Lucien Bonaparte (1813-1891), Prince Bonaparte, was a deputy and then senator during the Second Empire, and a philologist specializing in the Basque language. He was fluent in English, French, Spanish, Italian and Basque. He devoted most of his time to Basque.
