Jerunim de Blancas y Tomos (1530-1590) was an influential legal historian to the Crown of Aragon.
He revised the second part of the Annales de la Couronne d'Aragon at the request of the deputies of the Generality of Aragon and held the position of Chief Chronicler of the Kingdom of Aragon.
Provenances: Two ex-libris printed on leather and gilded super-libris on boards of Isidoro Fernandez, Spanish bibliophile. Many of his books were purchased in Paris. He had them bound first by Marius Michel and later by Emilio Brugalla, one of Spain's most prestigious bookbinders.
There are several forms of ex-libris of this bibliophile, one of which is used as a gilded super-libris on the boards of full morocco bindings. After his death, his collection was maintained by his daughter Flora, and from 1984, by Flora's son Carlos. After Carlos's death in 2009, his daughter Elisa Fernàndez Stoykovich sold the Library at Christie's in London.
