CRISTALLERIE DE BACCARAT "Branchages dans des cartouches" & "Poissons sortant des flots & Branchages de pommier du Japon". Rare pair of scroll vases mounted in the japonisante vein. Crystal proofs, decorated with branches and cartouches in kiln-embossed gold, the necks rubbed with gold. The bronze bases, initially silvered, with rotating decorations in relief of fish spouting from the waves and resting on feet evoking flowering branches of Japanese apple tree and treated in the round. Work in the taste of works distributed by Escalier de Cristal. Circa 1880. Each bronze base marked twice with the crystal maker's circular stamp under the base. Height: 25.8 cm A very slight chip inside the neck of one of the vases, minor scattered wear to the gilding, very heavy wear and missing silvering.
