Albert Marquet discovered Norway in June 1925, at the invitation of Walter Halvorsen (1887-1972) - painter, pupil of Henri Matisse between 1909 and 1910, Norwegian journalist and art critic. He travels with his wife Marcelle and their friends Pierre and Henriette Deval. The artist spent four months in Norway, renting a summer house in Hesnes, in the south of the country, near the town of Grimstad, its port and archipelago offering beautiful excursions and superb views.
